With summer time winding down, fall is right around the corner, most people are putting in their last ditch attempts at a summer vacation, a long week end out of town or at least a day at the beach. Whether going to the beach, frolicking at the lake side, diving into the river or just lounging around the poolside, most people are trying to take advantage of these last few weeks of great sunny weather.
These same people are also very much aware, what with today’s informed society, that all of their summer plans should include sun screen. It has almost become mandatory with society and social acceptance. Just try lying out in the sun without sun screen on your skin and see what sorts of looks and comments you get.
But, what most people forget, after slathering sunscreen, from forehead down to pinky toe, there is an area that they are missing altogether. The hair and scalp! That’s right; the hair and scalp also need protection from the sun.
Just ask any older person if they have ever had a skin cancer on their scalp and the majority will say yes; I know, as a hair stylist, I see it very frequently. Not to mention hair color fading and highlights turning brassy or green from chlorine.
There is a cure, or really a preventive measure, though. Bring a squirt bottle of water and some AG Fast Food, leave-in conditioner along with you. After you apply sun screen to your skin, simply spray your hair with tap water and then apply a generous amount of Fast Food to your hair and scalp. Just remember though, you must reapply the product to your hair and scalp, periodically, just like you have to reapply sun screen periodically. This will most assuredly remedy a great number of hair and scalp problems over the summer.
