Benefits of Goat's Milk in SoapDid you know that homemade, natural soaps are best for your skin...it has no chemicals that dry out your skin. Homemade soaps contain fruits and vegetables and are never tested on animals, unless you count people as animals.
Milk is good for the skin because of its moisturizing properties, which help prevent dryness. Milk contains essential proteins and amino acids, as well as vitamin A and D that nourish skin. Modern laboratories now know why milk has worked wonders for people’s skin in the past. The lactic acid in milk is an alpha-hydroxyl acid, a natural substance that dissolves the glue holding dead skin cells together. Milk has been proven to cleanse the skin down to its deepest layers.
Evidence abounds of the healing properties of a handmade bar of soap. Those who suffer from skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema, as well as people that have sensitive skin or are allergic to detergents often find immediate relief by switching to handmade soap.
One of the biggest reasons to buy handcrafted soap is that small soap makers leave the glycerin content of their soap in their soap. Most commercial soap manufacturers extract the glycerin to sell separately, sometimes at a higher price than the soap itself! Glycerin is important to skin care because it is a humectant, otherwise known as a moisturizer. Humectants draw moisture from the air, which, in turn, moisturize your skin. The glycerin content of the soap is what makes handcrafted soap softer than commercially made soaps.
Rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals, fresh goat's milk is Mother Nature's greatest contribution to health and beauty.
About Lye in Soap
Lazy Goat Hand and Body Soap’s are, in fact, made with lye, not much unlike the soap that your Grandmother may have made. Some people may question the use of lye in handcrafted soap. The fact is that all soap is made with lye. What needs to be made clear is that once the process of saponification is complete, the lye molecules and oil molecules have combined and chemically changed into soap and glycerin. There is no lye present in the finished bars of soap.
Our mission is to nurture a simpler, softer, more natural world by harnessing the benefits of goat's milk and all-natural ingredients.
